How to Remove Common Thanksgiving Stains From Carpet

Thanksgiving is a time of caring, sharing and being thankful! It’s a great time to get together with friends and family for a delicious home cooked meal. If you’re lucky enough to have everyone over at your house for a feast then you’ll need a few tips on how to remove common Thanksgiving stains from your carpet.

Cranberry Sauce

Act quickly! First, lift away any solids, then blot the stained area with a cloth dipped in cool water. Alternate between blotting with the wet cloth and blotting with a dry white cloth. Once the color no longer transfers to the dry white cloth, begin to blot the stain using a sponge with a bit of detergent to treat. Repeat until stain is removed. Rinse with cold water and blot dry.

Gravy

This stain is less tricky to remove. Begin by lifting away any solids. Then use a detergent to break apart the stain. Rinse with warm water.

Pumpkin Pie

Begin by lifting away any solids. Blot using cold water and a white cloth, then treat the area with a detergent. Let the stain dissolve for around 10 minutes before rinsing with cold water.

Red Wine

Act quickly! Start by blotting up the excess wine with a damp, plain white cloth, then sprinkle the stain with a generous portion of salt to help absorb the stain. Let sit for a couple hours or overnight (until stain is absorbed).
